Trying to find a white wine which my OH would enjoy.
Neither of us like Chardonnay much, although I will drink it occasionally.
I really like Sauvignon blanc, and also Pinot Grigio and vino verde but OH doesn’t like any of them.
I’ve ordered three different Albariño in this weeks click and collect, to see if any will hit the spot.
Anyone here an Albariño fan? How would you describe it?

Never heard of it, but I love Blue Nun, it is lovely and fresh and fruity tasting.
Albanino is nice. Slightly citrus and herby. Makes a change from the usual Sauv Blanc, Chardonnays etc that are around. If you like that, you might want to try Viognier.
yes my sister in law drinks it by choice
and one year I drank my way thro the whole cellar of one restaurant of ALbarino ( only you order it and we have run out )

clealry not in one go

sj, that description is just what I was looking for, thank you.
I’ll have a look at Viognier for next time too.
How about a Chenin blanc, that is a popular and palatable grape for summer
Try Viognier (A French one preferably as they're less sweet than New World ones).
I love a good Albariño, with a paella.I absolutely detest pinot grigio.

You could try Aldi's Pinot Gris or Cono Sur Viognier which is on offer atm in Morrisons.
Does Blue Nun really still exist? It was only ever for people who really didn't like wine.
Diddly, are you an oenologist? There are many people who like Blue Nun,not everyone has the same taste.
Blue Nun was a joke even in my student days (over 50 years ago!)- cheap sweet alcohol with zero taste for non-wine drinkers.
Diddly, I suppose that you have done a census of all wine drinkers which makes you come out with these pearls of wisdom.(not)
My favourite wine was Neirsteiner Gutes Domtal which is not dissimilar to Blue Nun. Very palatable. Boh of them.
For Diddly:- this from 2003
//The latest sales figures for the fruit-driven blend show that nearly 5m bottles were sold in the UK last year, an all-time high and far outstripping its popularity during its glory days//
Retro, Neirsteiner was a favourite of the troops in BAOR.
I too can vouch for Viognier . I don't drink much white wine but I do like that . There is a label called Bicyclette or something like that. And that's a good one.

I can't remember when I last saw a bottle of Blue Nun - I thought it had gone the same way as those naff bottles of chianti in a straw basket, so beloved of students for sticking a candle in after you'd managed to drink the awful plonk.
Superb, the outstanding wine of that grape in my opinion is Martin Codax.
Dry,but fruity with a pleasing following.
Excellent,
Gewurtztraminer, from South Africa failing that New Zealand

Rosie29, funnily enough I’ve just ordered that one on next weeks click and collect, as well as a couple of others.
The one you recommend Sqad, is available at Majestic so we may look into getting one.
Will have a look at that unpronounceable one too soul.
Thanks all, I’m sure we can find one which suits.
