We're having leftovers from Thursday evening...salmon, peas and pasta in a hollandaise sauce, glad I'm not cooking to be honest. Anyone having anything really interesting/delicious/tasty?
Out of curiosity, how many miles north of London does 'dinner' start to be referred to as 'tea'?? Watford Gap? Birmingham? Manchester? What do you call your evening meal?

So which one of you two are putting the kettle on later? Have to drive into town later to pick up the 'pleasantly merry' good lady. (Originally Radcliffe, now Wilmslow via Heaton Moor).

So and sorry Eth - it's tea here
Yes when the students are in, makes quite a big difference to the traffic doesn't it lol ... quite possibly Eve. Hang on, have I spoken to you before a out this ... Just had dejavu :0?

///we don't get many limp-wristed, southern-softies up in Yorkshire, lad///

Delusions brought on by lack of travel I assume!
Just had a huge pork chop with potatoes fresh from the tubs and mixed home grown vegetables (although they had been frozen). Full up now, finished off with a milk coffee and a penguin.
I think we have, about hospitals I think. The students make a huge difference! It always amazes me how many of them there are! We may have even been on the same bus together at some point!

Shall I make up a flask for you Captain?
Captains another one of us Eve ;0) .... Has she had a good night Captain? I saw Terry Christian at the Dancehouse last week & called in the Ford Madox for a drink!
I think we have spoken before Eve ... you work at a Uni building same as me?
Well if I can drag my backside from ebay, I may cook fish pie. But not that hungry now I have eaten half the friggin scones i made this afternoon.
I like the Ford Madox. No, I know some Uni workers. I'm elsewhere in the civil service.

Ah o.k, there's someone on here works quite close to me in a Uni building, can't remember who, thought it as you. Yes the Madox is great for food & drink. Students love the prices!
Hi eve, thank you for asking, I managed a slice of toast this morning, tried mashed potatoes for lunch and have spent the rest of the day feeling sick.
Aww no :( Take it easy, if it is your gallbladder it can be a serious pain (literally). Have you been told warning signs to look out for?
spare ribs and rice. delicious
(Very) boring pasta and grated cheese :+(

My taste buds seem to have been anaesthetised either by my man-flu and ear infection or by the medication - pointless bothering to cook anything more interesting, as I'm not hungry and wouldn't taste it anyway.

Even a perfectly nice viognier tastes like dishwater - back to the BlackSip I think :(
Eve, no not an official diagnosis yet but that is what the nurse suspects.
Take care of yourself (and you too Dave!) and if any more severe symptoms like a lot of vomiting then get yourself to the hospital. I had acute cholecystitis and I thought it was a really bad stomach bug initially.
Sunnydave, get some mulligatawny soup down you (Asdas own brand) ... it's mostly all I ate ... Just feeling better now.

What a very friendly vaguely food related chatty thread :)
Hope you all enjoy what you're having this evening, for whatever you call it. I'm off to watch strictly.
Oh, and can I have one of your freshly baked scones please Barmaid?
Enjoy Strictly! I'm looking forward to Musicals week! Off to filch an iced bun from the kitchen to go with it ;)
