I'm with you Always Confused, much prefer Duck or Venison for Christmas day but I get out voted by the Kids
AC- sounds great.
Maizee. I am cooking a pre Christmas Turkey dinner just for us 2 on Sunday because Mr LL likes Turkey (I don't) But it won't be any hassle at all - just like a Sunday Roast (which we don't have often these days) except there will be stuffing and chestnuts in with the sprouts.
Apparently my Son is cooking a goose. I have never eaten goose in my life!!
No she will come around in the morning for divvying out presents, then she's away somewhere with the boyfriend............She's doing a Xmas dinner on Boxing Day.

Have you recovered from the vertigo attacks now, crafty ?.
Still doing the exercises tony..........still not allowed to drive :-(
Simplicity this year!!
Soup (not homemade - m&s)
Turkey Crown, Frozen roasties, boiled veg (carrot, leeks, butternutsquash, parsnips) m&s stuffing balls, m&s red cabbage, m&s mini sausages wrapped in bacon - you can see the pattern1
Cartmel Sticky Toffe Pudding with clotted cream ice cream
Mince pies and coffee
Apparently we are having roast chicken - no starters but there are always loads of nibbles and a choice of about 4 puds plus cheese. But on Boxing Day I have to do roast turkey etc for us. I am actually considering that given the amount of food my mum will feed us on Christmas day, I just get cheese, pate and biscuits in for Boxing day.
How long before your allowed to drive again crafty.
jd - I dont bame you lol. My MIL often does that - she says its just one day of the year so why spend half of it in the kitchen when you can get such nice pre-prepared things these days.
Got to be clear of any attacks for a month...............
Ah righto crafty, I see.
Hi Crafty xxx

I've noticed Nibble is on somewhere, does he know what's going to happen to him next week?

I love Goose Lottie, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

So you get 2 christmas lunches craft? I love present opening time..>

Sorry for the delay Daughter's just rang to tell me how excited she is about Christmas !
We had our family Christmas dinner on Sunday, as not everyone is around on Christmas day.
We had:
Stilton and parmesan parcels (got it from a Nigel Slater program the other night), Brushetta topped with sweet red pepper sauce and welsh goats cheese, Prosecco. (had that whilst we opened presents)
Venison and Whiskey paté on toast, rocket salad.
Turkey, dauphinoise potatoes, petit pous with leeks and pancetta, cocktail sausages in bacon, stuffing, honey and mustard parsnips, carrots and gravy.
Christmas pud (which I somehow manged to burn and it ended up rock solid) brandy butter/brandy sauce. individual Boozy trifles - which, judging by everyone's faces, had too much booze in them.

There were cheeses, but nobody wanted them.

That sounds lovely Bluestone well apart from the Christmas pudding ;o)

I'm getting really excited about it now.

Yeah, it was a really nice day. It's not often we're all together.
I'm really, really looking forward to Christmas day, too. I just love seeing the kids faces on Christmas morning! :-)
