one of the best I have ever had was under a waterfall in the Philippines, the river valley used for the opening gun-plane scenes in Apocalypse Now....the Pagsanjan Falls.....

the only 'big' negative was that the village (full of luxury houses) where you set off on the four mile paddle up the river is the centre for paedos in the Philippines.

Morning Birdies. I see you have moved "house". Had to wait for a flypast and then follow. Wet miserable morning up here, so probably stay in after a busy day yesterday. Blood tests etc. ready for a visit to a specialist next week and the new cooker delivered and installed with all the palaver such a thing requires. Hope you are all well.

Nothing serious Emmie. Just a follow up after my near full body poisoning and kidney shut down a few weeks ago.

Following that we went onto the town of Paete to eat something. The ex found a bakery and I wander around, the place bizarre as they have all the folk and shops carving Catholic icons in wood - you name it, it's carved. Anyway, next thing is a rather spectacular band comes into the square hundreds of folk behind, oompahs and all playing.

Muggins dives in with his camera going - the ex comes out and gets the wider picture. I was in the middle of a funeral procession........oops, bail out quick.

emmie, part of the problem is that the age of consent over there is 12....and there's a far more laissez-faire attitude as to sex and families. However, I believe a lot has been done as to international 'visitors' seeking such sordid pleasures.

international pressure is being applied, emmie, - takes time and frustrating that it may be. An old gf of mine was head of station for the UN in Manila and she went a long way to getting it tackled but it's just not the Phils as it's prevalent through Indo-China and Thailand too.

Yes, Boaty, but a whole town of them is somewhat OTT....Catholicism is taken very seriously there - they even have folk who get crucified each Easter, their hands taking the nails driven through them and they are used to it, so they just about slide in.....gross.
