I have just met a child from school.
After a comment it would appear there is now no such thing as a spoilt child a thick child an attention seeking child and plain nasty child. Do the parents go spend a few hours on the internet and give them special names?

// It has been proven that 1-10 people have some degree of Dyslexia, is that popular enough for you. //

That means that 9 out of 10 people DONT have the disorder, bur I have admitted that it DOES exist, but not to the popular extent.

\\\When I read some of your posts on her Sqad, I often find it difficult to believe that you have ever been involved in any kind of caring profession!\\\

That is an unnecessary comment as you know little about me and the sort of comment that other ABers make when the disagree with my opinion.

I can live with that comment and will lose no sleep worrying.
Nice post Noxxy, and totally agree however it doesn't detract from the fact that these children can have these labels, no matter who's fault it is.

I also agree with Bobbs, i hesitate to use the word "thick" and I don't think I would about a child, dunno why but above all the other examples this seems the cruelest thing to call them.
Spoilt, thick, attention seeking and nasty children do exist

It's just that we have to give them fancy PC names these days
I love Joe, he's so diplomatic, rofl

Ok. If you have a "Vicky Pollard" and she has all her assessments confirming she has not got a "special" condition. What I am saying is no one is assessed as spoilt etc they are all assessed as something "special"
of course they are not!

PS All the names are labels
Are they.....?
Question Author
redcrx A what point when the parents do not have their chosen label are the parents told their kid is a spoilt one?
by whom?
No Suetheramble, after all the clinical tests were exhausted they would not give a diagnosis unless the results had proved that she suffered from a certain condition.

They dont label people of having a certain complaint unless it is professionally diagnosed, they dont just pick a diagnosis out of a bag like some seem to think.

the person doing the assessment - thicko!!
So diagnosing someone with Cancer is just giving them a label?

A learning difficulty is a bit more than just being slow or thick as some would like to think. these are proven conditions!
I suggest you refer to nox's reply sue, there are often reasons why children may appear thick or spoilt to you.
Can we lay off the personal attacks Sue? calling a fellow user "thicko" aint gonna endear you to us :-)
>>>>>the person doing the assessment - thicko!!<<<<

well that says it all doesnt it. roflmao!!!
Suetheramble, maybe you should be looking at a name change, how about Vicky Pollard :-)
lol.

you didnt say if the person "labelling" the child was another parent, a teacher, a GP, a consultant, someone from the education authority.

or are we just talking about you? and your your own labelling of others?
Question Author
No some are officially labelled others their mothers say they have problems. Cancers is not a label it is a disease.
What percentage of a class are normal - spoilt - thick - and special. Today there are only 2 categories normal and special what has happened to the other 2?
You seem to have gotten you knickers in a right twist about this - who made the comment, another parent, another pupil, the teacher?
