It is my grandson's 6th birthday today. We sent him a beautiful card first class and he has not
received it. I will phone him when he gets in from school to let him know that his nanny and
granddad have not forgetten him. My daughter tells me he has taken some sweets to school to
share with his friends. I really miss my grandchildren. They used to live just 10 minutes away.
But now they live about 50 miles away.I know it's not far as some people live from their families,
but with my husband working shifts and alternate weekends don't see them as much as we'd
like to.

Well even so without the guarantee. As I have said a couple of times now, they have never let me down.
I now send all special cards special delivery..costs a fortune but at least they get there ..or use Katies cards for e cards lovely animations and only £5 for a whole year send as many as you like
coccinelle , If the envelope was brightly coloured it probably won't ever get there. The postman will know it's a card, possibly with money inside, and steal it ;-)
cupid why not get skype? my children were born in Africa and still live there - I have two gorgeous granddaughters and keep in touch on a very regular basis via skype. No it's not ideal but it makes the best of things - I get to share their everyday life and the camera keeps us in touch visually too so that when I go over to visit, I'm not a stranger to the little ones.
