My son has just lost his O2 pay as U go mobile and cannot find it anywhere. Can anyone tell me if its possible to keep his old number when he gets a new phone with sim card and how do you do it if possible.

you can't usually keep the number when you change sim card. however there's something called 'porting' which might enable you to do it, but i think only to the same network. best bet is to talk to someone at o2 in a shop.
You can definately port it to a different network. I had a vodafone PAYG and switched to a contract with Orange, keeping the number I had previously with Vodafone.
