Am going to amsterdam this weekend and was looking to go on a cigarette & baccy run. Can i make much money out of this? How much can i legally bring back? (there is 2 of us going)

There's no fixed limit but it must be personal use only and while there's some question of whether or not they are legally entitled to enforce this the fact of the matter is that they are enforcing it.


You're likely to be in trouble if they catch you with what is considered to be above personal use.


One of the ways that they reckon this is if you're caught with a wide variety of different brands of cigarette. They (probably correctly) reckon that you're more likely to be intending to sell on than just being terminally indecisive

If you are going to sell it you cannot legally bring anything back without paying duty on it.

I doubt you could make a business out of it, but it will help towards the cost of the trip. So I'd think it was worth just bringing back some to earn your fare back.
