If I Stop Supporting United Who Should I Support

I was thinking Watford or QPR. Watford is 5.5 miles away and QPR is 6.7 miles away but QPR's season tickets are cheaper. Which club do you think i should support?

Without doubt West Ham! They are offering a reduction in their season ticket for the 2016/17 season... and what a stadium to watch them flourish in!

The fact that you are considering moving your support from one team to another puzzles me. I have followed the Hammers for 40 years through thick and thin, cannot even imagine transferring my wish/desire/passion that I have to see them triumph... to another team? Surely never.

So have you moved from Manchester then and that's why you are no longer going to support Man U. (unless you meant West Ham Utd).

I know that our choice of team to support is something that usually just happens and is difficult to explain, but I feel there has to be some sort of affinity between the supporter and their team. Are there any players in the area you like? Do you want to support a team that might win something? (I wonder if that may be why you are dropping Man U). Supporting a team is a good shared experience so do you have any friends who support a team so you could join them?

You could always ask around your classmates, see who they support, maybe a small group of you could go together.

If you asked my 10 year old son he would say Tottenham Hotspur.
If you asked my wife she would say Leicester City (of whom she has been a long time supporter... like 2 months).

All wrong as the team to support is obviously St. Johnstone FC. Admittedly that would be a rather long round trip from London, so perhaps Spurs isn't such a bad idea.

I'm not a football fan, so don't quite understand people's affinity with the team they support. But I always thought you don't choose a team, it's just "in you" along with your family etc.
however, in answer to your question, go for QPR. (Only because that's the one my OH supports and the ground had a nice restaurant when I went there some years ago.)

Whatever happened to the old system whereby people became fans of their "local" team(s) virtually automatically? Having been born in a small fishing town in north-east Scotland, I supported the team there for minor football and Aberdeen for top-division football in Scotland. It would never have occurred to me - or any other local schoolboy at the time - to become a fan or follower of Celtic or Rangers, say.
As far as I can see, in England, youngsters simply latch onto any team that is regularly doing well...winning leagues, cups etc...even though they have never even been within spitting distance of that team's city, never mind its ground!

By tradition, you follow your home team - from the town where you were born, and that is usually in place via family members who have affiliations in place.
