All of it is horrific in my book..I guess this shouldn't come as a surprise though.
I saw this on television. I couldn't look!
Seems a bit bizarre...............doesn't do a lot for me.......
so long as the babies consent....

Pamplona - the bulls kill the street-runners dont they ?

and wasnt it Salvator Dali (1970s) who was flinging cats by the tails ONTO a roof. For inspiration. He agreed to put mattresses on the roof.

Los espanoles - todos locos
Pp..apparently none of the creatures consent but that doesn't matter I guess, won't stop the "humans" enjoying themselves eh?
Sandy, I'm sure that the babies are devoted baptised catholics, and gave their full consent safe in the knowledge that their chosen deity is protecting them. What is your problem? this is an example of god given 'free will'.
.

Los locos espanoles sent a statuesque brunette tottering in high heels to the Waterloo Cup (hare coursing) and she tried to buy a 'leedol bonney' to save it from the lurchers.

Zees leedol floffy bonney - I most save heem from ze dogs

It made good television. The cloth caps at the Cup, were less amused but they may have been actors.
Once this beds down it'll come to UK.
Not as bad as baby tossing in India.

McMouse - Yes it probably will for the sake of "cultural cohesion". We wouldn't want to deprive them of their fun.

Jomifl, it's probably true that most of the niños are baptised and if anything untoward happened they'd be sure of a place in the celestial créche. But they're not in a position to get up and walk away if they don't like whats happening. They can't exercise free will just yet.
Well I wasn't jumped over and I've had a hell of a life....

A hell of a good life, I hope, rather than a hellish one ^
anything that cleanses babies of sin has to be a good thing. I wonder if it lasts into their teenage years? That would be especially valuable.
A bit of a ridiculous thing to do but the babies are not really at risk of harm, the same can't be said for the babies in Hopkirk's video link though! Not only are they dropped from a height, they are shaken roughly first :-/ Have they never heard of shaken baby syndrome?
jno, do babies sin?
We should never underestimate the abilities of other cultures to perform exercises which we regard as cruel, dangerous, weird, and in some cases - all of the above.

Imagine being present when the initial conversations for some of these things took place. What sort of drugs do you think would be required to think that throwing a donkey off a church tower is in any way a valid way to behave?

And as for jumping over babies ...

Bullfighting, less of an issue about its inception - man takes on large animal which has at least some chance of sticking its horns through his privates - but the rest are just plain weird!
Sandy / But they're not in a position to get up and walk away if they don't like whats happening./
Not even at their baptism. :-)
Watch "You've been framed" for UK examples of cruelty to children - plenty of material there.
"But they're not in a position to get up and walk away if they don't like whats happening."

Just as well, that coud cause the poor jumpers a terrible injury.
