An intruder in your house?

Apparently.. when my mother was last out here with me, my dad encountered a young man who had just simply walked into their house and started rifling through their cupboards...

He beat a hasty retreat when the dogs realised he was in the house. This only transpired the other day...

How scary !!

We were burgled once. Unfortunately we had a dog who was always very alert so mum told him to 'shut up' as she assumed that it was just him barking at yet another person walking past the door. Mind you, I suspect hearing the dog meant they only went in to the living room and not any where else in the house so that's good.
Yeah three years ago whilst I was in the shower.....a young guy walked into our home and lifted the two sets of car keys and three mobiles...The shower was downstairs and we ignored the dog barking..well dogs always bark don't they!

My car was written off....which suited me fine.

Guy was prosecuted and jailed.......Lock all doors now...we had left back door open that morning.......lol
three weeks ago when we were away, loads of things stolen including my desktop computer, glad I took my laptop away with me but still having problems!

Hi China - yes, I'm surprised that Jack and Midge didn't tear the guy apart. They can be very...terratorial. Anyway, my father was out in the garage when it happened, and he went back into the house just as the guy was running out.
On the plus side... Snaggy keeps talking and I'm going to be the mad axe murderer intruding in to his house.. ;0)

I've had things stolen off me at work etc., but thankfully never been burgled. I even had a guy try to put something in my drink once, but I was aware of what was going on, thankfully...

Holy ****, Ummmm. That must have been a terrifying ordeal for you !

I would literally fight to the death before I let a man do that to me...
Oh heavens ummm - must've been terrifying. Had you ever seen him before?

Ummmm - you just reminded me of something that happened years ago. I had a guy come up to me in the supermarket and ask me if I could get something off the bottom shelf for him. He said he had a bad back and couldn't bend down. As I bent down to pick something up for him, he stuck his hand between my legs. I shot up, swung round and slapped him so hard around the face, I'm sure I dislodged a couple of his teeth. It was a knee-jerk reaction, but I didn't regret it....
if my internet kept cutting off i'd go straight for the jugular
LOL!!

However, back to ummmm's, it reminded ME of something which happened ages ago. I answered a knock at the door, and a guy basically walked in and plonked himself down in the kitchen. I was flat-sharing at the time, so wasn't too concerned, as I thought he must've been a friend. After a few minutes of small talk, he started to make compliments about me, and alarm bells went off. I made excuses that a couple of the girls were due back. Had he been a real friend of theirs, he would've stayed, but he shot up and left. No idea who he was, or why he was there, but it makes me dither to think back to what might've happened.

Thank heavens you got out of that one, Ice !!
I know. I'd never set eyes on him before.
I was once told by a policeman that we should ALWAYS listen to that inner voice that says something isn't quite right and act on it even if you feel you are being rude. Better embarassed than harmed.
about four years ago we were robbed at home. Heard the dogs barking at the gate and even went outside to check but didnt sse anything. Went inside and locked the door. Then my daughter went out and left the kitchen door open. Hubby and I were in our bedroom when in walked five guys..Hubby tried to be a hero and tackled the one but was beaten to a pulp for his efforts. I sat like a stupid while they ransacked the place. All my jewellery even my wedding rings off my hands and anything else they could carry. Cameras crll phones cash clothes shoes chocolate perfumes!! They tied us up and locked us in my walkin wardrobe. My hands came loose and i managed to feel us. I was thankful I was not harmed But my poor hubby was battered. I now sleep with a browning 7mm under my pillow.
