On the phone when I didn't want to speak to someone.
I've pretended to have boyfriends when trying to get rid of pestering men.
It's interesting at work that a lot of people wouldn't necessarily I was me in title (look young for my age so they are more likely to assume I'm a secretary than a lawyer/partner).
I do it all the time when I answer the phone at work and someone asks for the manager, i always say the manager is out of the business/off the floor and then ask who it is and how can i help.
always a good plan cos it gives you time to regroup
I once told someone I was a singer in a jazz club, with the stage name Tallulah. I can't quite remember why but he was annoying me. I assumed he'd think I was a liar and leave me alone, but no.. he was more interested.
The last time I pretended to be someone else whas when Vodafone called me, except I didn't know it was Vodafone, so when I was asked if I was Lindsey ******, I said no.
I honestly thought it was a window sales call or some other crap.
