Dislocated shoulder

Realistically, I know it's difficult to tell as we are all built differently, how long will I not be able to drive for after dislocating my left shoulder?

you need to get advice from whoever is treating your shoulder really. Ask for a referral to an Occupational Therapist who will do an assessment of the actions involved in your work and compare it with what you are now able to do and what might put your recovery at risk, she can then give you some factual advice. This is called an activity analysis.
