i read an article about putting a couple of drops of olive oil on your face at night and that within a week your skin would be much better!! Seemingly helps not just dry skin but blemish prone sking? Did also point out that you needed to ensure you removed it thoroughly in the morning. Has anyone tried this? I have found olive oil soap to be good.

Hi Joannie, I read that putting honey on your face was very good. If you can put up with the smell!

feel that would be very sticky on the bed clothes!! just heard that should be taking a spoonful of honey before bed and this helps aid sleep and also fructose breaks down fat - Oh how difficult it is to follow all this advice. Thanks. Not had many responses but think I will give it a go - will post my findings in a week or so.
put the honey on your face BEFORE you go to bed. Then wash it off. Twice a week I read somewhere. I tried it, but smell put me off. Good luck!
Hi Joannie, I put Olive Oil on my new borns head and forehead, to remove dry skin/cradle cap the natural way. Although it smelt, I found it excellent. So why not on our own faces?

As the oil is high in Vit. A & D it can help skin conditions, so should be ok for rubbing in. Chemists sell high grade olive oil for medicinal use by the way.

I remember just after the last war when I was a very young girl and cosmetics as such were either on ration or not available at all, my mother used to buy a tiny precious bottle of olive oil from the chemist (long before it was used for cooking) and use it as a skin moisturiser. She continued this practice for most of her life and when she died at 91 her skin was still as immaculate as that of a baby. It's certainly a lot cheaper than all the modern stuff which is currently on sale in the chemists and probably just as effective as long as you take care to wipe the surplus off and avoid soiling pillows and bed linen.

thanks all for your answers, the website is great. basically you can do anything with olive oil. I have been trying it for a couple of nights now and so far so good. Only a couple of drops so not too messy and not too much trouble to remove at night.

thanks again.
