There are now 47 Tory MPs, who are standing down at the next GE.And there are a few Top Cons amongst them... Is it because they know they are going to lose their seats anyway .Although .The Cons have gained a couple of + points here and there. they are still trailing a long way behind Labour in the latest polls.

On hearing the news on and off this week this whole mess could end up being the (biggest ever) cock up not only in cost, but also the amount of misery they have caused to peoples businesses, and peoples homes.Any politician with half a brain would have improved the already rail network we have. as a tory voter - yes it does look like the current administration are running scared.

International lawyer oon tv last night mauling Suella views on immigration and international agreemennts

International lawyers don't hold sway in elections.  The public do.  Don't hold your breath, gulliver.

Almost the same as the thread you put on about the same thing 2 weeks ago.  As you and Hymie like your polls have you seen the new one "Rishi Sunak has been handed a major boost in the polls, as Labour's lead has dropped by nearly ten points."

Gulliver, you do know that when MPs stand down, other people wearing the same colour rosette take their place in elections, don't you?

For what good some of them do they should consider standing down now. The only thing I see my local MP doing is photo shoots, but the latter is only for anything that appears to be a success in the area. Anything thats a problem, they don't get involved.

11 40 Tories still trailing well behind Labour, they have got as lot of catching up to do, and they ain't gonna make it.

The only chance the cons have of winning the next GE is if they stop the boats, that and only that will turn the tide. But thats not going to happen is it? so it looks like good bye, bring the next lot forward and see what you can do?

Question Author

Nicebloke 11.55 Agree with you. I think the whole of the Tory Govt should stand down right now. To give the new Govt an early start, to sort the mess out the Torys have caused.  It's Going to take some doing.

Link?

OH, plus stopping the boats they would also need to fill that plane several times thats been waiting on the Tarmac, falling apart. Still waiting on take off to Rawanda. When you look at some of the school boy efforts that have been put in place over the past few years its down right embarrassing. Lets not mention the rail line.

Question Author

I can understand Sir Graham Brady standing down .Just think of the embarrassment if he got booted out by Labour or even Lib. After thinking how important he is.

Question Author

Nicebloke  12.26  "Lets not mention the rail line" Wonder just how many billions has been spent so far on HS2. And how much of that   money has found its way into "The Con Crony Club of Contractors"

gulliver, what is Labour going to do to stop the boats?

On hearing the news on and off this week this whole mess could end up being the (biggest ever) cock up not only in cost, but also the amount of misery they have caused to peoples businesses, and peoples homes.

Any politician with half a brain would have improved the already rail network we have. This mornings news also pointed out that there are already, ( i think it was six) managers already on £160k a year for running a rail line that's not even built yet, never mind running. And one big top dog on £600K a year. what on earth is going on?

The costs won't stop even if it is cancelled because companstation claims will rocket from all directions, contractors will sue along with many who lost their homes and businesses for nothing.

Question Author

Naomi 12.51 "What is Labour going to do to stop the boats" Think that should read What are the Tories going to do to stop the boats .Because if you haven't noticed the Tories are the govt in power at the moment, and up till now they have done SFA about it. Tip! get your own house in order first etc.  OK.

12.51 A good question, and thats the worry, and the problem for voters. Thats why I believe the turnout for a GE will be poor, unless you carry a real big grudge, then you will vote labour just to see the back of the cons, and I can't really blame people.

Question Author

Nicebloke 13.01 You've just gotta get Best answer for that one.

gulliver, //Think that should read What are the Tories going to do to stop the boats //

But that makes no sense because according to you the Conservatives won't be in government for much longer and it will be Labour's problem soon.  So I'll ask again.   What is Labour going to do to stop the boats?

Thanks, its just the truth really, someone asked this morning, what is that top dog doing for £600k a year, and the other 6 on £160k?

Question Author

Naomi. Lets just rename the Con Party ....The Stop and Start party.

Not stopping the Boats and .....Not starting the HS2 Rail line...
