Are you working for the Yorkshire Tourist Board this morning ;0)
I may have been to the Ridings but can’t recall what they are called now, should never have been changed
I was brought up in a part of Lancashire that was east of Yorkshire before the boundary changes (can you work out where that was?). I spent many hours cycling round the West Riding.
I've been to York. Don't know which riding that was.
Love your tea.
at least there's no snaw.

And your puddings.
North Riding 2,135 Middlesbrough, Northallerton, Redcar, Scarborough, Whitby
West Riding 2,763 Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield, Wakefield, Halifax, Harrogate, Ripon

Been to most of the above but not the East Riding
I've spent all morning wishing everyone a Happy Yorkshire Day! I give the same greeting to all of you - big smile on my face.
bhg - probably the Todmorden area? Or, going back even further, the Forest of Bowland?
Happy Y day to you Jourdain :0)
Thanks, Bobbi. I now live in the East Riding - it's worth a trip, I promise.
jourdain - the River Ribble was the boundary in those days, along with the Hodder. I was in Clitheroe, the western town and county boundary being the river.
Only been to York but maybe venture further next time.

have you seen the Yorkshire Haka?

As a Lancastrian, i shouldn't be saying this, but i adore Yorkshire. Particularly the many racecourses and their adjoining communities there:-)
And especially the friendliest of them all, the folk at Beverley racecourse. If the weather was better, i'd be sorely tempted to undertake the 4 hour round trip for today's meeting.
Been a few times, it's a lovely county, yes folk were friendly, food was good, and I would love to go back some time if it wasn't so hilly
North Yorkshire Dales my favourite place in t' world.
I believe Yorkshire usually do well in the Olympics
