Hot-smoked salmon fillets, Levantine mixed grains (Waitrose) and helda beans.
Rhubarb and custard trifle (on offer at W/R).
Hearty beef stew. With dumplings!!
Having just wolfed down a man size meaty feast pizza I'm good for now.
Beans on toast and scrambled eggs.
I'll do a bit of shopping tomorrow morning.

What are the Levantine mixed grains, gingejbee? I like the Spanish Style Merchant Gourmet ones.

I bet the little one would like that for his dinner, Sandy, minus the toast.
I'm not sure. We have just had a shopping delivery so we have plenty to choose from.

It could be rib eye steaks with field mushrooms and home-made chips or game chips or it could be beer battered haddock, mushy peas and chips or it could be paella or, in view of the fact that the chef has no energy whatsoever, it could be beans on toast, cheese on toast or egg on toast!!

BM ... what a selection to choose from. I'd probably become hypoglycaemic trying to make my mind up with those choices...
Certainly not ladyC, some folk complain about Pineapple on Pizza but for me and the safety of others any sort of seafood should be made illegal on pizza.

I don't really mind pineapple on a pizza, Arky, but I wouldn't elect to put it on there.
That is the problem with shopping when you are hungry!!!!! But we do need to start eating again. We had half a meal last night - the first actual meal since Monday.

I can't understand why I've had COVID twice and barely had any symptoms and yet I developed pneumonia from a stinky cold my son brought home from nursery.

How's your taste and smell?
Not had a good day pain wise but we have pizzas, garlic bread and a beetroot salad in fridge so think that should keep MrSmow happy……

Sorry, gingejbee, meant to say I've definitely had something similar to those from Waitrose. They were fresh ones from the fridge.
1) Presentation....colours and desirability.
2) Taste.
3) Wine.
4) Cheese.

Mrs sqad excels in all 4. It doean't matter what you eat as all the above 4 components exist.
Steak casserole doing from 9am in the slow cooker with mustard mash and veggies ( the weather has become very Autumnal overnight)

Hey, bobbi ! Beef casserole sounds nice - just like Sharon's.

I've got some beef in the freezer so that will be my next batch cook I daresay. Last time I made casserole I used pork cheeks from Morrisons - they were unbelievably tender.
