Wasp Sting

Just been stung on my finger by a wasp. I was trying to pick it up with 3 layers of toilet roll but the sting went right through. It's itching and stinging like mad. I don't have any antihistamines and I don't have much else in the house.

How long does the stinging last?

Try some vinegar to stop the itching. Surgical spirits may help. My doctor told me the cut side of an onion. Brandy?

I've got white vinegar which I use for cleaning. Is that ok to use?

No reason why not. I'm not guaranteeing anything, but we would rub vinegar on bites.

I couldn't mind on whether it was A for Bs (Acetic acid [aka vinegar] for Bees) or V for Ws (Vinegar for Wasps) but it's the latter.

Did the vinegar work tigger?

I would have pit some in an eggcup or other small container and kept my finger in. It's anything sharp really, lemon is good too.

The stinging subsided a bit but it's back now. Didn't realise it needs to soak in the vinegar.

I got stung several times on the same finger last week .....wasp inside my washing up gloves!! Still swollen now.

It's been itchy and sore most of the day. Luckily I've had no swelling or allergic reactions.

U V W, Use Vinegar for Wasps. Bee stings are acidic and need an alkali.
