When I saw the 3 numbers the random lucky dip had given me for tonight's Hot Picks, I despaired. All 3 in the 50s - 52, 54 & 55. I'm one of those who, while realising that any consecutive set of numbers can, and often do, get drawn, I do like mine to be spaced more evenly. So, imagine my surprise - and unbridled joy - when those 3 numbers were actually drawn (number 50 was drawn, too). The money will not be in my account until morning but, just as soon as it is I will be transferring all £800 to my bank. Ker-ching and thank you very much Camelot. :[-)

Well done Ken!
Nice one Ken. I won £84 for four numbers years ago.
So pleased for you Ken! You could be on a roll.. :-)
Well done, Ken - a lot easier than poring over those form guides!

Thanks, folks. I've had the odd 3 and 4 numbers on the main lottery a few times, but this is the first time I've ever had all 3 in the Hot Picks. And yes, it is easier than studying the form:-))
Well done Ken, a nice little earner.
Since the start of January we've had 2,2,2,2,3 and now 4 numbers in the 50's. Fiddling Canucks.
Oh, and well done, ken.
At Christmas I won the Sunday Times crossword (gold pen) and two ref books as a runner-up on the Saturday Kate Mepham - could have done with a cash win, though!
Always fancied that gold pen. Wouldn't buy one though.
I'd rather have had the £240 they say it's worth :)

Wasn't all good news tonight, though. I did lose £3 on the Irish lottery :-//
Just don't lump it all on some three-legged nag in the 3.30 at Kelso, Ken
I was excited to see that I had a lottery win when I went to my account to check the result. Alas it was only a lucky dip.
:-(

I'm sure you've heard my mantra before, Brainiac; gamble for fun and only stake what you can easily afford to lose. Don't think i'll be doubling the stake on my bets, or anything like that:-)
We had a syndicate at work (about 20 people) and we each had 1 entry and could choose our own numbers. I always chose 1,2,3,4,5,6, to the despair of the guy organising who always said,"Well, that's one line wasted". I could never convince him they were just as likely as any other combination.
Canary - I read an article that said about 10,000 people per week pick the numbers 1 - 6 so doubt any payout would be worth it.
Yes, I read that too, but years after I had retired so too late. It did surprise me though, 9,999 people like me ;-D
Nice one, Ken! :-)
That's nice to hear. Good for you. Hope you enjoy it whatever you decide to do with it.

Spicerack @ 23.31. I seem to recall that many of the 'extra numbers' were drawn on an alarming number of times very soon after being introduced. My thoughts then were the same as yours; fiddling bar stewards. Now they've fiddled the numbers in my favour and the £800 is in cyberspace on it's way to my bank:-)
