:D

Is there any significance to 'interesting gentleman' (thank you for referring this interesting gentleman to me) in a letter from a consultant?

If it was NHS..........then no significance at all.
If it was Private......then sucking up to the GP.

Thanks for that, Sqad. Wondered if it meant 'blerdy hypochondriac' or 'weirdo'
Not a consultant. But read loads of referral letters. I suspect he is either complicated, or somewhat weird. The best ones are FM, and SFM, as used by a neurologist I used to know. The f is obvious the m is mad. The S is still. The other ones are outspoken or strong minded. Difficult and angry, polite, sarcastic barsteward, and with a close supportive family, prepare for a coach party watching and questioning every move.
LOL....LOL...you mean a sarcastic "interesting?"....LOL.

No......little or no significance.
I recently asked my GP to write a letter supporting my application to get off Jury duty. He called me 'delightful' :-)
When my DH was in hospital, I was known as his "forthright" wife. I took it as a well earned compliment.
HC ... no particular relevance at all. Most letters start, "Many thanks for referral this pleasant / delightful / interesting lady / gentleman."

a dermatology dept wrote to my gp re the lovely lady she sent to them, the doc showed me the letter .

I think I'd prefer to be 'delightful' than 'interesting'. :(
my dad was an "exceptionally pleasant gentleman"... but then ..he was just that !
At least it didn't say NFN (normal for norfolk).
lol BM.. you've been peeking at my client write ups in Norwich !
I remember the first dictation I typed when I joined the NHS.

"Thank you very much for referring this 72-year-old lady who presents with a 6-month history of right-sided hand pain. There's nothing wrong with her f****** hand, it's her f****** head that needs examining!"

OBVIOUSLY ... I didn't type it word for word.

I could tell you many, many funny stories about Doctors' dictations.
Oh do, NoMercy!
Clover, let's just say that one of my closest friends at work used to work for an eminent penile Surgeon. We have literally roared with laughter over a bottle of wine!
Apparently they have a compendium of initials which remains a closed book to the non-initiated.
tee hee..
That's been stamped out now, JD. People can access their own health records now for a fee.
I've been referred to as "this delightful lady" , made my day though I do hope I don't have to see that particular consultant again.
I know it's all very 'old school' but is there any need for the superlatives anyway? What's the point?
