I have never had much trouble with my feet maybe a couple of corns many many years ago which I removed myself.

However there is a hardening of skin at my big toe and it is sore to walk on.

Is this just hard skin that I could remove myself or would it be a callous - would I need to go to a chiropodist for that. Thanks

Yes and yes.
Chiropodist first then you may be able to keep it down yourself with a hard skin remover.

ok LOL - thanks for a quick response. Right now it is sorta pulsating - err - is it sore to get it removed - like what can I expect.

Whatever was wrong with my neighbour she had to get injections into her toes. She has gone on vacation so can't ask her. Thanks again
Injections.....?
Probably cortisone (steroids) given for an arthritic problem or a nerve problem (Morton's Neuroma).
Just guessing.

eh?
Question Author
yes that's right - I called over last week before she went away and I did remark on her lovely toenails. She said you know they are all false - particularly as I have no big toenails.

anyway never mind her LOL - is the callous removal painful. Ta ta
Is the callous painful?
Never had one, but i wouldn't have thought so as the callus doesn't contain any nerve endings.
