......for keyhole surgery has finally arrived. Three months later than promised. The question is whether I should have it done or not. My doctor said without any treatment, it should heal on it's own in 12 months. That was 8 months ago and it has definitely improved. The pain has gone from my shoulder but I still have restricted movement. The surgeon says the surgery will clear it up, but as it continues to improve, I'm hesitating about it. Should I just leave it, or have it done? If I have it done, I will have to have my arm in a sling for six weeks. No driving. This will be a big problem for me as I can drive at the moment and need my car. Problems, problems. Has nayone had keyhole shoulder surgery? If you have, how did go? TIA.

Take note of what the surgeon says. I've never had that type of surgery done, but I consult surgeons because they know, better than I do, what's best for my body. Don't hesitate about it; get it done in surgery.

Clear what up?
The pain?.......that has already gone.
The restricted movement? How restricted? Does it bother you?
It continues to improve....that is the bottom line.

Me? No I haven't had endoscopic surgery to the shoulder joint, but if it we me, I would not subject myself to the procedure.

As sqad says, it's your call.
I haven't had shoulder surgery but I have had a fair few ops in my time and I wouldn't have surgery on anything unless it was my last resort.
Speak to the surgeon, ask their advice , but also ask if you can postpone things for another three months or whatever time scale you think appropriate and then reassess.
I think that that is what I would do.

I'm sure that will be OK and if you decide to postpone then they have time to give someone else your slot.

Good luck whatever you decide.
