My dentist did it free (twice).
band 2
My dentist does minor things "free" too...so I pay the "check-up" fee only.
I had a gap between one of my left front teeth and the one next to it. My dentist built it up, beautifully and just put it down as a filling. That cost me £49 instead of goodness knows what, if he had charged for cosmetic dentistry.

A chip sounds like the same to me.
Definately Band 2
happened to me a few years ago and my dentist fixed it for the price of a checkup,i guess it depends on your dentist.
