shuddders at the thought of 'at the same time'

I know are sedated for a colonoscopy.
Question Author
do i get put right out??
I've had both but not at the same time. Heavy sedation for endoscopy and relaxant for colonoscopy
Question Author
i have to get them both done at 1.15pm next week
Kate, phone your hospital and find out. That should put your mind at rest. x
Feel the same as albaqwerty - but at least it will be over in half the time - good luck
I was given anaesthetic spray for Endoscopy but nothing for Colonoscopy, bit uncomfortable but well worth it in the end. Good luck.
Question Author
how long does it take ?
Well worth it in the end?

<just me sniggering??????>
Felt like about 30 mins maybe less for colonoscoy can't remember for the endoscopy as I was 'asleep' and yes both were well worth it
Not long, about 20-30 minutes but they'll keep you in for a few hours.
The tea and toast afterwards are nectar. You should be home by about 6 and possible feel quite drowsy. Do NOT cook any food by yourself, get a son to spoil you x

JTH,very funny(bitch)
i have had a colonoscopy turned out to be a life prolonger if not saver.
Colonoscopy is an endoscopy, but do you mean Colonoscopy AND Gastroscopy, in which case you do get sedation.
Question Author
someone has to get me just after 4
I hope they'll use different flexible cameras :)
Question Author
och alba'so do I.i will ask them when i get there.
Don't tell me if you don't want to, which hoppytal are you going to?
Sqad is correct of course. The Endoscopy i referred to was the Gastroscopy, given under local anaesthetic spray, took about ten minutes, bit uncomfortable.
its not anaesthetic as such -you are not unconscious. you have what they call sedation or "waking anaesthetic" which leaves you compliant and still able to follow instructions but has the added benefit that it gives you a retrograde amnesia, meaning you don't remember
