Hi there after being on the internet I really was freaked out about the prospect of midazolam. Very occassionaly with my doctors say so I take a huge dose of Lorezapam before a procedure. 3 years ago I took 4 tablets the night before 2 in the morning and 4 1 hour before an endoscopy and I got to the hospital very calm I was also given a shot of midazolam. It went fine. But I just want to take all this lorezapam as I have had wisdom teeth out with it, fillings done at the dentists and MRI scans done and although I was dizzy I slept for 12 hours afterwards but I got the procedure done. Im going to see my GP tomorrow to ask permission for this for friday. I will be so chilled doing the colonoscopy with that.

Do you realise that colonoscopy involves drinking a strong laxitive the evening before your scan to clear your bowel I don't know for sure whether this will also clear the effects of the tranquilliser. Ask your GP, and good luck for Friday my OH had it done he said it wasnt too bad.
Why do you have to self-medicate before going to the dentist? I know it's not pleasant going there but surely local injections take care of any pain for fillings, extractions etc. And what's with medicating before an MRI scan? There's absolutely no pain or discomfort involved.
Foxlee -Ativan is for anxiety, not the pain.

It is for panic attacks Lorezapam works wonders for me and if they put a canular in they should still be able to give me pain relief I hope to watch it on the screen

I am a total control freak
Just make sure that the medics or the dentist know what you've taken, in case it doesn't go well with anything else they might need to give you.
Hi gordie1, You took 8mg Ativan/Lorazepam? That's equal to 80mg Diazapam/Valium! No wonder you were calm..lol. I hope all goes well for you on friday.
