What kind of allergic reaction, where and how serious?

How long ago did you have it done and is it a one off initial reaction or a continuing one?

If continuing or still troublesome then ring NHS Direct and get their advice as to what to do (ie wait and see GP or get it checked out in casualty).
you can get a yoghurt based hair dye in some salons. Do you have a particularly sensitive skin?

Hair color should not stay on your hair for more than an hour but some process in 20mins, depending on the color contrast.
Have a skin test at the salon.

Sometimes antihistamin tablets an hour before the process can help.
