I strongly advise a hair strand and skin test first of all before trying out any product!! My little sister is a hair dresser and ive heard some real horror show stories about people who's scalps burn and they can never grow hair again on their head!! Are you allergic for sure?? You should always do a skin test before every application, even if you have used the same product before!! I dye my hair every month and it still really scares me!! thats the only advice i have really!!

Thanks.
I do a skin test but each time I come out in an itchy rash on the inside of my elbows and behind my knees. Anti-histamines dont work. My GP says not to try any more as each time the reaction I get is worse. Dont want to go grey gracefully or otherwise !!
Have you tried eyelash tint, that's made of vegetable dye so is natural. but best advice is go to a top hair dressers or a reputable one, like francesco's group and ask for their help.
i have very sensitive skin and have had reactions before - i now use Superdrugs own and have not had a problem- been using it for 4years or more now. Its cheap as well!!!

I had a very encouraging reply from Wendy at naturalhairproducts.co.uk . She reckons I am allergic to PPD and recommends Surya Products. Have sent off for a sample.... Watch this space !!

Will do... eagerly...

When you say you don't want to grow old, what else are you doing to stay young or look young?

Hope Wendy's advice works did you charm her too..

i am a retired hairdresser and my advice is that you are most definitely allergic to an ingredient called PPD! beware do not use any hair dyes that contain PPD. hair companies have enhanced many of their products to achieve more longer lasting results and the amount of PPD has increased to achieve these results. My son and daughter are both seriously allergic to this ingredient, so much so that my son decided to colour his own hair and ended up seriously ill in hospital.
PPD is more likely to be found in dark colours of hair dye. If you really want to colour your hair check for PPD and alternatively only use true semi permanent dyes.
Surya henna is brilliant i love it, its the best hairb dye i have ever used.
Like you im also allergic to ppds and alot of other chemicals which can be found in hair dyes.
I get all my from www.topleaf.co.uk they are so freindly and if you want advice about anything just give them a ring i have and they are always honst and very helpful.
