After 2 nights home dad was carted back into hossie at 4am..more blues and twos...so.getting ready to go to WGH...again....

Ummmm...his temp and blood sugar stabilised...they take away the antibiotic drip and all seems well for a couple of days...then..flares up again.they want the bed so are not monitoring him long enough in my opinion...

That's awful Murray. They did similar to my gramps, although he wasn't poorly like your dad, but it costs them more in the long run. How can they not see that??

Just in.....he's Being shipped back to the Infirmary tonight....his consultant is not best pleased he was discharged when he was....good news his last scan shows the tumour is shrinking and is much improved..however his liver function is not good because of his bile duct not draining and the consensus is his stent is the problem....so over to the heptology team for further investigation...poor dad in the meantime is very very low..tired And is losing heart...hate seeing him like this feel so helpless....

I'm pleased his scan shows it's shrinking. Keeping fingers crossed that it burgers off completely.

get hold of the consultant - the furious one - and say that you dont want him discharged until he is well enought to go home.

He can hardly say no

what may be happening is that there is infection behind the stent
and is controlled when he is on antibiotics
and then ranges free when he comes off.

That's what we all think Peter...it's finding the appropriate antibiotic to clear it up...
