Long session today, two more at least needed - reckon I am about half way through; the stone work is going to take a fair while to "texturise" up. I haven't finished even outlining the tower and their south wing/transept. There's a small window on the latter.

Heck of a story to the church as it used to exist among the sand dunes at Perran about 3 to 4miles away and that church was slowly being buried by the sands - so they upped sticks and moved most of it - as in the lower tower and then built the nave and door....hence the difference in stone size and shape between the tower on the left and the main building.

The church is rather nice inside and surprisingly large - sits 220 and carries 6 bells, so a campanoligist's location. Very popular with weddings....less so with tourists.

I spoke with one of the PCC today, originally from mrs O's country, and she and one other who live locally are interested in prints - and also have suggested putting one up in the Church offering prints and cards for weddings as well as selling postcards (has to go to the PCC of course). However, that would be a nice add on to the commission, for if these two come in alone, that means 9 prints plus the cards.

What talent - I'm envious. Waiting to see the finished article DTC.
that is very nice DT.

A bit like st winwalloe is also on a beach and regularly gets loads of sand inside all over the floor. bell tower is a separate building hewn into the cliff. i have done an etching of that in a different medium but not up to your standard.
Hi DT. I`m so glad you are posting "in progress". So often look at a finished work and think...how on earth. Still thinking....how on earth...such talent... but great to see start to finish. Thank you.

Well after all your sorting out? xx
Brilliant as ever DT, I look forward to the finished drawing.

It is amazing how many churches in Cornwall do have separate bell towers. Feock and Mylor come to mind as well - I don't know Winwalloe.....will look it up. What fun to have the sand coming in, a buqqer to clean though!

Very good, DT. I do a bit of painting myself - and stone always catches my imagination. My artistic pals call me 'the Rock Chick'. :o)
Stunning DT. Stunning.
