Hi Ed, once again we have the usual suspects berating anyone who dares to ask a question in Quizzes & Puzzles. Surely now enough is enough and you can ban/suspend these people?

Would these same people join a Pampers website and moan that people should be using real nappies any time someone posts? For me, they are spoiling the section and should be removed or warned.

I tried to find that piece you did about "any question is welcome" but couldn't find it.

I sympathize with those who feel their quiz is being ruined by "cheats".

However, it wouldn't be a very good questions and answer site if we didn't let people ask the questions they want. As such you can ask any question on any subject which falls within the Site Rules.

The revised Site Rules can be found here: http://www.theanswerb...s/Question965826.html

To berate a user for ask questions is not particularly in the spirit of the site. I think we can all agree on that.

Certain quizzes "ban" the use of The AnswersBank. I think this is a great compliment to our excellent users.

I wont be banning anyone, but a warning may be put out in the coming days.

sb I tried to put up a advert logo quiz in there yesterday but failed, would this be because, in effect, it wasn't going with the banner(s) in there?

Cheers Ed.

Bobbi, you are welcome to post ANY quiz question you like in there. Ignore the trolls.
Agree with squarebear, some poor people are getting a really hard time just for using the site.
thanks Ed a warning will be good if they won't be banned.
I don't think it was troll attack sb ;-)
more of a set pattern, I copied and pasted , added a 'bobbi' bit to submit but it wouldn't
Like you, I love a quiz, keeps the mind active, if some find them boring the easiest solution there is , Don't take part at all, it's that simple
keep em coming sb. I love them
Ok ... got to admit defeat and ask ... what's a "troll" please?
Question Author
A troll is someone who joins an internet message board such as this, for the sole reason of causing trouble to the oter users and generally being not welcome.
they're ugly little things that live under bridges BetteK ;o)
Was kinda expecting that answer Mazie! LOL!!! Don't they eat goats or something?
they have very miniscule cvells for a brain, maybe even a single cell ;-)
That's them !
<cells>
It is someone on the internet, usually on forums, who tries to wind other people up. It has over the years developed into an art-form on many forums & message-boards.

I don't think the people SB is referring to are trolls - they're more likely to be upset quiz and puzzlers.

However, if they were being a pain, "just for fun" then, yes, they may be trolls.

All the best,

non of the quizzes that come on AB are trolls in my opinion. They are very passionate about their hobby. To some extent I can understand their frustration
Oh ok, thanks for info., Seems I have led a very sheltered life and didn't know there were actually folk out there who would deliberately cause such trouble. What an eye-opener.
Question Author
I wouldn't mind so much if they at least posted answers once in a while, instead of their constant complaining.
some people were born to complain sb, I love your quizzes when I can get in them :-)
SB, are there any plans for another AB quiz....?
