Is there any way to ask people to post their question in the " Question box " rather than typing it all into the Title box and then leaving the actual question box empty.

Joko - irritation, that's it.
Joko, I've not actually got a problem with people posting their questions in the title box, if it fits and makes sense.

But what it means is you get a lot of questions with one word, meaningless, titles and no proper question that take up space and push genuine questions off page one before they've been answered.
The main problem I find is they are so difficult to read with all those capital letters, and it's diificult to work out the number of spaces in the answer. Also the resultant extract from the title which appears in the Latest Posts section is pretty meaningless.
But maybe you have a point; and maybe we should abolish the question box and just put everything in the title box- wouldn't that be more efficient ?
I replied on this subject yesterday here: http://www.theanswerb...s/Question898651.html

We will change it in the future, sadly I cannot give you a tighter timescale than this for the time-being.

I do try and get back to you all.

Right, as to these ideas. I quite like the idea of just having one field to enter all the data in. The problem is that this only works for certain, albeit, important areas such as Q&P and technology. (Q&P because often the question is usually singular and short, and tech because often the person asking the question doesn't have the right language to explain what they need exactly, and thus the questions are short).

In other areas like Geneology, Body & Soul, and yes, ChatterBank the details box is required.

For now we'll think about middle-way solutions, i.e. making it easier to post pull questions and harder to post short ones! I will let you know when we get some movement on this.

Sorry about all this,

For example, a post like this one is dense and obtuse, in my opinion. I immediately close questions like these when I come across them.

Thanks Ed for replying to my thread, at least we know now that you are looking at the problem.
