I would choose Vinny100_2 (and that is not because he mentioned me), Smudge, Netty, Robinia, Woofgang, Indie, Brawburd, Graemer, Mrs Pudding, Cetti................... and loads of people.  Most ABers are lovely. 

Probably Andy Hughes is the most popular because he never gets into any arguments and keeps away from the chatty threads.  Well done Andy.

you know i forgot to tell you that i changed my user name. this is allo. sashagreen was a name i made up when i was 16. when a guy would ask for me name and i didn't want to give it to him i would say sasha green! akay!

In an anonymous Q&A site the popular people are not really any better off than the unpopular or anonymous users if you want a question answered. I've had a lot of people give fantastic help to me on the site though but can't thank or even remember all their user names.

When did the green thing start I wonder?  Was my name in green on other AB posters' screens?  I didn't notice the notice it when I started and other names were not in green then.

I think the Q. should be about the most popular long-term regular AB poster, as Aschenbach's point should be borne in mind.

Since joining AB in 2002, I have found most of you very helpful & friendly & I have tried to be the same. Rock on!

flaming, the green thing is just a couple of weeks old. Impostors were signing on with user names apparently identical to older users' - it was a font thing - so sometimes you couldn't tell who was who. The typeface was changed to prevent this and new users' names made to appear in green for their first couple of weeks. New users should probably get chocolate cakes too but I don't think there's anything in the rules about it; ezapf will know.
