yes but don't over do it
not by the bucket load or it will gas up. Best served quartered as a treat.
but please dont feed them without the owners say so

even if they are starving and have been left there by gypsies?
Call the RSPCA.
report to RSPCA if neglected. If you feed horses you dont own you could be sued for mishaps.
you could easily cause colic which can be fatal ring the rspca
if they are starving they don't need apples, you may be doing more harm than good - they need hay (at least) but do as previous posts suggest, contact rspca. A good example of well meaning advice being asked without the full story being told - could have catastrophic results. Good that you care though 4getmenot

travellers horses may look rough due to their living conditions but are not often starved as their pied horses are highly valued.

onetomany travellers travel these are gypsies from a gypsy site. they arent starving was just a 'what if' they get hay every week and carrotts, I just have lots of cooking apples.
then ignore my last post cos I was thrown by your answer of 'even if they are starving and have been left there by gypsies? - I took it to mean that was what had happened! strange that
still don't feed without the owners say so...if they aren't used to apples, the diet change might give them colic.
4get. If these are the horses I think they are, please don't go and ask the owner's permission. I doubt if you would be welcome!! No disrespect to you Woofgang (your advice is good)
my horse wont eat apples of any sort. Likes carrots and also brown wholewheat bread.
