according to all the websites I have looked at they have never bred in aquariums so breeding is an unknown. If thats the case- then if they dont breed incaptivity then where do they get them from? Are the streams where they live being emptied?
Yes they are egg layers

When it means they've never been bred in captivity, it usually means that it has never been done in a domestic aquarium at home or in the shop....most fish are bred in large fish farms in S.E. Asia.

If they can't be bred in fish farms, then they are wild caught.
are they chickens or look like chickns? NO!
