Doesn't appeal to me though I eat fish fingers - somehow don't fancy the combination. Good that you enjoyed them.
Haz, can I ask which part of the country you come from?
The reason I'm asking is that, coming from the North, (Manchester) we put anything and everything between two slices of bread and call it a butty.
I've often wondered if this is a Northern thing to do.
Hi Barsel/ Live in East Lothian. I know a lot of folks up here put chips, potato crisps, fish fingers, etc. in a sandwich or roll but it's just a personal thing .... doesn't appeal! However I do enjoy bacon, salad,
tuna rolls - funny old world. x
I’m doing a Sunday dinner with all the usual , that’s for tomorrow as I’ve got friends coming as Mr Bs away to his sons at Norwich , meat is already cooked.
Today, it’ll be freezer bingo for me
I've got two young grandchildren staying with me. Bought a big box of cod fish fingers last week. They both told me after that they've got fed up with them!
So me and oh,had some with chips and salad a couple of days ago. I forgot how good they were. I also mentioned to oh, that people like to put them in a sandwich, so I'm going to try it soon.
Have fish fingers often. When feeling shattered in the evening, with no enthusiasm, or energy, for proper cooking, they are simple to do and, with some veg, be part of a nutritious meal.
I remember reading on here years ago that northerners put meat pies between two slices of bread. Bleugh!
I love fish fingers sandwiches. I smother mine in mayo & a dab of ketchup.
Hmmm, I fancy one now.
Absolutely Naomi. I must add, we don't do it if we are eating out or if we have company.
It's like a guilty pleasure.
As a young girl, I went to stay at my future sister - in - laws house in Derbyshire where they mashed banana and put it between 2 slices of bread.
I was unsure about this but it was yummy.
Now, I even have mashed banana on toast!
Banana sandwiches? Now you’re talking, Barsel. Food of the Gods.
Just to add that it has to be COD fish fingers, not fish fingers 'cos the fish isn't as nice.
Like banana sarnies too - also, the odd combination of cheese and raspberry jam!
Many people will turn their noses up at it Naomi.
You don't know whether you like something unless you give it a go.

One of my favourites is pickled onion and tomato sandwiches. But I had run out of both and had jam yesterday so until I go shopping tomorrow its make do and mend. Out later for a dog club do so will be a takeaway on the way home tonight.
Haz, I've never taken too sweet and savoury together.
No apple sauce on pork, no cranberry sauce on turkey no orange on duck etc.
In my mouth, this combination tastes like something that has gone off.
Lankeela, that's an interesting combination.
Meant to add, hope you enjoy your takeaway.

With added vinegar! Which I tend to put on most things.
Barsel we were told that mashing the banana releases its sugar , sez Slimming World ;0)) so slicing is best …sez SW :0/
My son came home from uni raving about fish finger sarnies which I thought sounded horrible, until I tried one and was converted - has to be on white sliced bread with tomato sauce - but is also nice with a dollop of tartar sauce. I very much like a cheese and jam sarnie too but it has to be Cornish cruncher cheese and black currant conserve ( there's posh)
