Just infuriate me...

I have a vague acquaintance on FaceBook, and she posted her cat wasn't well, so I asked what was wrong and just got this back...

" He was sick last night and I hadn't seen him all morning, went outside and he was under a bush he couldn't stand up, I thought he had been hit by a car a first but no other signs if that, he is very unsteady on his back legs and won't eat or drink, he is cold and shivering, got him wrapped up in a blanket at the mo, and he hasn't moved for about 2 hrs"

I mean for Gods sake, any normal caring person would take it to the vets- right? I don't understand some people I really don't! And yes, i've told her so too!

what an absolute dick......she should be done for being so stupid.....i feel sorry for the cat x
awww poor thing, she should of gone to the vet first thing
What a moron!
I'll bet you did, but well done, she needed to be told!
Stupid woman.
I would have been at the vets within 30 minutes of finding the poor cat. He may have been hit by a car or attacked by a dog, the signs are not always obvious.

Im devastated.

I genuinely can't understand how you can not take an animal which is in obvious distress to the vets.
Next, she'll be saying the cat's dead!
Eric got taken to the vet cause he was limping and wouldn't put any weight on his paw, I thought he'd broken it but he hadn't. I can't imagine leaving him to suffer like that, I'd have called the vet to do home visit if I didn't want to move him, it's what I pay me insurance premiums for innit! Maybe that's the problem though, vets bills can be really expensive and that scares people, (not condoning, just saying a reason why you'd leave it maybe).
Good for you, B00. I'd have told her too!

I get that CD, but I would take it to the vets and think later, in fact I have done that in the past, and I was lucky enough to be able to pay the bills in installments.
unfortunately....because of my job and teaching, i meet some incredibly stupid people. some do not have the requisite two brain cells required to bang together x
She's got to get him to a vet straight away. He could have ingested poison or could have internal injuries after being hit by a car. It could be any number of things.

Grrr, give me her phone number and I'll sort her out. No, on second thoughts, better not...........
Yeah, I don't agree with it either, just thought I'd throw it in the mix. I think it's cruel the cat has been left.
Question Author
She's not replied, and I was polite too in my response to her.

What can I do? :-(
If she's on benefits, she can take him to the PDSA. If not, a consultation's not that expensive. It's the medication that costs - so at least she could take him to find out what's wrong.
Direct her to AB and we will sort her out. In such cases we take no prisoners.

Her cat may just be stunned but could die of shock or dehydration. Tell me that she has no children to care for - please!
Sadly, I don't think there's anything you can do.
wolfie - bags I have first slap!
