Just infuriate me...

I have a vague acquaintance on FaceBook, and she posted her cat wasn't well, so I asked what was wrong and just got this back...

" He was sick last night and I hadn't seen him all morning, went outside and he was under a bush he couldn't stand up, I thought he had been hit by a car a first but no other signs if that, he is very unsteady on his back legs and won't eat or drink, he is cold and shivering, got him wrapped up in a blanket at the mo, and he hasn't moved for about 2 hrs"

I mean for Gods sake, any normal caring person would take it to the vets- right? I don't understand some people I really don't! And yes, i've told her so too!

I know. :o(
boo....i think the time to be polite has passed. be rude and threaten her with the rspca.....or let me know who she is and i'll do it x
Short of going round there yourself, taking the cat out from under the bush and then taking it the vet, I don't really see that there is anything you can do. You'll have to let it go I'm afraid.
is there no way you could trace a phone number for her? What worries me is that she hasn't read your post and that poor bloody cat is dying of shock or is badly dehydrated. (Well its a given he is badly dehydrated if he hasn't had a drink for ages).

Ive just posted that im more than happy to walk up to hers with a cat basket and help take him down, im really quite upset
Question Author
she's just messaged saying shes waiting for her husband to get home- hopefully he'll then get to the vets, if its not too late.
Did you tell her off Boo - people like that annoy me so much - i worry if my girls are not warm enough!!

Arghgghghgh
maybe she hasn't answered because she is up the vets? Maybe the penny has dropped!
Good for you to keep on at her, some people are so dense.

Her latest to me is...

" its not nice, he is prown to infection so fingers crossed its just that, i think he has got cat flu to be honest, with him being sick ect last night and he has had it befor but not like this :-((((("

Still i wouldn't bloody dither about it, God I really hate people sometimes :-(
just read your message... dopey woman, what is wrong with a taxi ??? grrrrr
Why is she waiting for the husband to get home? Tell her you'll take him.
You sound like a lynch mob.

ive left it for now Naomi, before she blocks me and i never find out what happened!

All i can do is hope that her hubby comes home soon and they take it to the vets.

I've asked her to let me know how she gets on.

don't care what I sound like Thetaliesin it's really upsetting me know that this cats in obvious distress and so far nowt's being done for it.

Any normal person with any kin of empathy would feel the same.
Let's hope he's not on late shift! Let us know what happens, will you?
On the few occasions my cat has been poorly I've kept my eye on him for a couple of days before making him suffer with the going to the vets. Each time, apart from once he's perked up without any need to be seen.

Maybe she's being a drama queen. Maybe she hasn't got any money. Maybe she knows her cat will usually perk up.
Question Author
Aye will do, i'll ask her this evening how they got on.

There's a difference Ev between being a bit off colour and finding the cat under a bush unable to bloody walk!
So she thinks her cat has cat flu!!

even more reason to take it to the vet quickly before it infects every other bloody cat in the neighbourhood.
Ev as a cat owner you know if your cat is feeling a bit down - but finding it under the bush unsteady on its legs is a vet job straight away!
