Hello AB.
On 02:26 Sun 10th Mar 2019, I posted the following question to the Editor's Blog:

“Why Do You Shut Down Active Threads?”

I then went on to explain why a thread involving me and a false allegation about me had been locked down, preventing any further debate. I received no reply.

Now, a week or so later, I return to see if the AB editors had anything to say on the matter. And lo and behold, the entire exchange on the Editor's Blog has been eviscerated from the site. It's as though my question was never asked. The original question thrown down Winston Smith's “Memory Hole” in true 1984 totalitarian fashion.

Nice one AB. Nice one. Censoring legitimate debate about the matter of legitimate debate. You must be so proud. I hope you sleep well at night in your beds, safe in the knowledge that you are the true custodians of morality and righteousness and that all opinions that differ from your own are illegitimate and morally deficient.

You censorious ***-wits. I don't normally swear on forums such as this but seeing as this post will likely be immediately deleted because of the criticism of AB rather than the profanity, I simply don't care anymore.

//Perhaps your list of Mods differs from mine? //

//I don't know how many Mods there are but they will all have slightly different views of just how far to let ABers push threads,//

Lol. One of the complaints was about moderator's inconsistency. Jeeeeez
retrocop - // Lol. One of the complaints was about moderator's inconsistency. //

Inconsistency is a concept that exists wherever and whenever the potential for human error is present.

Moderators are like football referees, they call it as they see it. People don't always agree, and sometimes they get it wrong, but they do their best for the right reasons, and the constant drip-drip-drip nonsense that Moderators are some secret organisation with power-mad super-egos is simply a myth.

People make mistakes, we have to live with it, that's life.
First post on this thread and I get picked out by A-H. There is favouritism for you. Should I be flattered? Lol
I'm sure we all have a list (albeit a mental one) of those we believe to be, or suspect of being, a Mod, retrocop.

I didn't claim that mine was a comprehensive one and it is only reasonable to assume that they all have a slight variation in the way they believe the Site Rules are best implemented.
retrocop - You know full well that you are really the only AB'er I am interested in - I reply to everyone else for the sake of form, and to avoid accusations of favouritism.
Yes I thought as much. Well at least I have not been described as reviled on this thread by your fellow mod (yet). Any idea btw who the mod is who thinks the acronym for First Aid Nursing Yeomanry is a rude word? lol

As I have also pointed out ad nauseum, but am happy to do so again - none of the Moderators know who their fellow Moderators are, unless they have identified themselves on the site.

That's another Machiavellian myth I have been trying to squash for years - without success!!!
Of course. I forgot.
That was on the thread where other posters were having a name calling fest I see - if that was all you posted then maybe it got tangled up in the mix.

Perhaps we should get bots in to do the job of both posters and mods, saves the human element getting in the way :-)

I wonder if Birdie now wishes he'd dimply done an FAO to sort out his disagreement with another.
TBF the editorial staff appears to have slapped down the idiot who thought he was Thor or some other crap superhero.
Things haven't been too bad of late.
I think sometimes people need to take a deep breath, step back, and regain a little perspective.

I was totally bent out of shape when a thread I originated was closed when I was in full flow (for a change) but honestly, is it really that important in the scheme of things?

We do need just to let go sometimes - and I know I need to heed that particular lesson more than most!!!
It's unfair to single out any Mod and isn't it against Site Rules to do so?

And that's whether you agree or disagree with a Mod's stance on things/threads or whatever...shouldn't complaints/issues be directed to the Ed team and not here.....
Have I upset Thor?
Aren't waterboatman and dannyk13 mods? And I know Aberrant is.
LB, oh yes. I'd forgotten Waterboatman and Danny, and Aberrant is a new one to me. Told you I don't do lists. ;o)
Just another thought. Odd I should have forgotten waterboatman. When the Ed was looking for mods and asked for suggestions, I put his name forward because he’s here early and I thought he’d be handy for zapping the piles of spam that land here at unearthly hours. How could I forget? Perhaps I should start keeping lists. Night all. Sleep tight.
Apparently moderating is a thankless task.. So here goes nothing.

Thank you moderators, for all you do for us AB users. It is really appreciated. Thank you.
"when I was in full flow"

This isn't body & Soul andy if you're having problems with flow maybe someone could help?
I've come to this very late but just to say Birdie has made some invaluable contributions and is a strong debater.

What are your thoughts on my knowledge that all the Mods that I know, lean towards the left of politics?
