Fasting does not have to be whole days. "Fasting" can also mean leaving a large 'window' between meals...usually dinner/breakfast. A fasting period of 14-16 hours is not uncommon. Then have 2 sensible meals. It will have the same benefits as 5:2.
I need to lose 2-3 stone, I've heard this is a good way to lose weight, and I've been promising to start this diet for ages. Not used to weight watching so it's just finding what not to eat for the 2 days of diet.
