I only use it mainly for texting and the odd phone call.
I have decided to exchange my Vodafone Smart mini 4 for something else.
I want a pay as you go, possibly another Vodaphone. Which is the cheapest for texts and phone calls please ?

I think for pay as you go, the supermarkets are the cheapest.

Tesco, Sainsbury's and Asda all charge 8p a minute / 4p a text.

Tesco's only have that on a secret PAYG Lite tariff, but with a bit of effort you can get onto that.

Can you enlarge on that as I have looked on their site ?
Tamaris...you should go back to the shop that you bought the Vodafone from and take their advice. As a iphone fan, I would always recommend them, but they may be too expensive for your needs. There are lots of smart phones out there these days...Samsung is often spoken of highly.

But you need proper advice...go to a phone shop....I have heard good reports about Tesco.

Thanks Mikey. That is a good idea
I think its for the best Tamaris. Years ago, you would have bought a Nokia, or maybe one or two others but there are literally 100 available now.

Don't pass by the opportunity for a reasonably priced contract though, rather then pay-as-you-go. Once you appreciate the convenience of being able to deal with emails wherever you are, as well as texts and calls, you may never be the same again !

Thanks good advice
By the way Tamaris, let us know how you get on. We like feedback on AB !
Once on the standard Tesco PAYG tariff you can switch to the Lite tariff.

If you register with them to get an on line account you can switch on line, or go onto the chat line. A nice little man ion Bangalore will then switch tariff for you.

The standard tariff is about three times as much, and claims to give you three times the credit. However the bonus credit expires after a month.
