Nothing. There have been blackbirds that have repeatedly tried to nest here but they get seen of by the magpies every year. I think they`ve given up now.
It's a good year here. Back garden has Blackbirds, Dunnocks, Robins all in the Leylandii hedge - kept to 9-10 foot high by annual trim.
Front garden has Blackbirds, Collared Doves, House Sparrows, Robins.
Also a first for us on Monday, a Parakeet on the bird feeders.
Three pairs of blue tits in three separate nest boxes, one pair of blackbirds, one pair of robins. No doubt the wood pigeons are throwing a few sticks up the tree. We keep finding feral pigeon egg shells as well. I think they are nesting under the solar panels on the roof!
blackbirds, robins, blue tits , wren, great tits, goldcrest, jay, wood pigeon, collared doves, magpie, thrush, sparrows, chaffinch, green finch, bull finch
and a family of squirrels
Blackbird definitely has a nest in the hedge (have seen the brown female carrying twigs and branches) and loads of starlings in the eaves of the house and garage. Lots of finches come to the food trees, but I don't know where they nest. I have also seen a tiny bird, think it is a wren, in the escallonia. Wild pigeons are nesting in the pine tree, and there is a cacophony of bird sound every evening from the neighbour's birch tree. Magpies are on the prowl, too, I don't like them, as they raid the other birds'nests.
Nothing in the immediate area (too many cats) but the neighbours who have trees and thick high shrubs report a nice mix,one can't use his hose pipe as a wren has taken up residence in the reel holder.
