Ab Names

I have seen some very imaginative names on here since joining.
I am curious, how did you all choose your names?

In my case - i joined at short notice so I didn't have much time to think, but Gail is my first name.

From my dog Shane .Not a name I would have chosen for a dog but that was what was on his collar when we rescued him .We always called him Shaney and he was a star of a dog and much missed.

Mine used to be carandrog, first three letters of my name and first three letters of OH's name. When we had the amnesty on changing names I shortened mine to caran as Rog never came on here incidentally when I was born I was going to be called Gail. My dad on the way to register me decided to change it from Gail to Carol as "we will never have a Christmas Carol again" then had to go and face my mother and tell her what he had done. He was a very brave man knowing what my mother was like.

I always remember misreading your name, as car and dog, rather than car and rog.

Funny how Carol is a boy's name abroad but a girl's name in England. It is a version of Charles so can't really see how girls are called that, Caroline or Charlotte seem to be more appropriate.
