Most CD burning programs will "walk you through" the process. Basically, you need to create an AUDIO and not a DATA CD. Most non-computer based CD players will not play CDRW's, and most will also need you to "finalise" the disc.

If you post the name of your CD burning program, someone may be able to give you more specific instructions.

Oh - if the mp3 tracks were downloaded from a commercial service there may be copy protection on them.

Nero and Roxio programmes will convert the mp3 files 'on the fly' if you choose to create an Audio CD. If you prefer to do the conversion yourself have a look at the free cdex programme or invest in MusicMatch Jukebox. You can always Google for other free converters.
iTunes also has a CD burning facility. Personally I think it's about the easiest to use, too.
