Burning HD files

I often download episodes of various TV series which are aired in the USA in HD, but whenever I burn these XVID files to DVD, the audio goes out of synch after about 10 minutes.I can watch the downloaded file on my PC and there are no synch problems so I know the file itself is ok.I use NERO to burn the files, but the result is nearly always out of synch. Its not my laptop as I have tried it on 3 different ones using NERO and all the result are out of synch. I even went out and purchased a new NERO disc, but the results were the same. I started to use ROXIO, and this works fine every time and there are no synch problems, but it takes hours to burn a DVD ,and ROXIO always freezes up my laptop (even though I have 1GB RAM) and I have to press the power button to reboot. The problem only seems to happen on stuff that was aired in HD.I have also tried converting the files to various other formats, but still the synch problems persist.Any help would be most appreciated.Does anyone know of some other DVD burning software that I could try?I am currently trying Ashampoo (hence my previous post below,) but I will have to use another program to convert my files first.

I've never had any problems using WinAvi (free trial, $30 to buy) to convert and an older version of Roxio to burn. I tried Roxio 7, but couldn't work out how to keep the aspect ratio correct (though I didn't try too hard!). Plus it sounds as if your computer is better specced than mine!
