It is after all difficult for any criminal to get work so I guess he's going to struggle.

There is no violation of that act:

"Sentences of over 4 years will never become spent and must continue to be disclosed when necessary."

Exactly. The world and his dog know he's a convicted rapist(pending appeal, which I thought was supposedly being fast tracked?) so why do the politicians need to keep adding their two pennorth worth?
Generally they're all for those who have served their time, repaid their debt, turned over a new leaf etc ad nauseum.
Why do they feel the need to keep jumping on the bandwagon against him?

Interesting article:

Those I alluded to in my earlier post were allowed to resurrect their careers, despite crimes with as much gravitas as Evans, IMHO:

Ched Evans has served his time and should be allowed to continue with his career..... if someone will have him. I found it disgraceful that the Daily Mail should use a headline on todays sports page by saying 'Oldham eyeing rapist Evans.' According to that newspaper Evans' career is certainly finished, cut and dried.
He hasn't served his time. He's served half his sentence and is serving the rest on license.
I just hope the girl in question has learned her lesson and dosen't go getting drunk and picking up strangers , getting in taxis and ending up naked in their bed.I hope her parents have given her a good talking too.
she didn't pick up a stranger, she knew McDonald well, and he was found not guilty. She didn't know Evans, and may or may not have said Yes to him when he turned up univited (at llst by her).
I do wonder if this young man should seek other employment , keep his head down, finish his sentence, and learn by his mistakes.
trying to reintegrate into polite society by seeking employment isn't necessarily irresponsible.

// I expect eventually, a club will employ him. // - Gromit Monday.
