Is ironing a woman thing? Dont mean that in any derogatory way. Its just that I cant iron to save my life.
I'm a painter and decorator by trade and (without wanting to blow my own trumpet) no one can see the joins in my papering. Im good at what i can do. BUT, I cant iron to save my life. My clothes end up with more creases than before they went into the washing machine.
I need some fine pressed clothes for tomorrow (memorial service) but have a feeling im going to turn up looking like Compo...
I hate ironing. I HAVE to do it because I live alone. I think men are equally as good or are equally as bad as women. It's not a male/female thing. We have to iron our clothes/ bed linen etc. It's a chore as far as I and many others are concerned. I have a great heap of the stuff to do later today... or tomorrow.
I hate ironing but will do it when necessary. OH wouldn't have a clue what to do. He'd ask the nearest woman to do it if I wasn't here. I don't think it's a particularly male/female thing. He was spoilt by his mum and previous wife.
I find I have very little ironing as I wash on a crease free cycle then hang everything out on hangers, does the trick. Only things like jeans and trousers to do.Oh does not even know where the kitchen is never mind the iron
I detest ironing but to try to make it a bit more bearable I do 'Speed Ironing,' by putting the stuff that doesn't need ironing in the tumble dryer, set it for 10 or 15 minutes and then I have to flash through the chore before the dryer finishes.
