just wondered at what age people thought children should start having supper, my son has just turned one and he has a bottle of milk in the morning and some breakfast, then a meal at lunch time and a meal at tea time then he just has his bottle of milk when he goes to bed, if he should be having supper when is the best time before, his bath or after, he has his bath at 6.30 then straigh upstairs to get dried, dressed, story, bottle and bed!!

Hi babalicious.I think that supper is a personal thing - some people have it,some dont.Ive had 4 kids and never gave them supper at that age, they would have three meals then as you said, milk in the eve.Now they are bigger tho they eat 24 hrs a day!! Seeriously,my youngest is 6 and had developed a massive appetite even tho he is as thin as a rake. And he has dinner about 5.30pm but that still doesnt last him till bed at 7.30 - he has a bath around 6 then will still ask for a piece of toast or something. But you do whatever feels right for you - if he seems hungry still give him a little snack.

our family have never had supper - not even as adults. the last meal is at about 6pm and then thats it, bar a cuppa for me before bed.

its whatever you do normally.

if hes sleeping all night and waking happy in the morning, he is probably content with what he has eaten during the day but when hes a little older, maybe 18 months, a sugar free biscuit with his milk downstairs before bed would be perfick!
