Some of the callers said they'd found the original show hilarious and were sometimes in tears of laughter watching it.
I thought it was amusing but not the funniest thing I'd ever seen. Just a sense of humour failure on my part, or was it not as funny as some seem to remember?

Minder is a good example. When Terry McCann left it didn't seem nearly half as good. But maybe by that stage it was just getting tired.
"Vot is your name"? "Don't tell him Pike".

It's made me chuckle just typing it!
All these programmes were right for their time with perfect casting, trying to recreate that for todays audience wouldn't work in my opinion.
A cameo for Ian Lavender?

Grey haired now and approaching middle age. Perhaps better to remember him as the gormless lad he was.
^ lol!
they recently tried to to a new series of YPM, disasterously bad, sad because they had good actors doing it but even they couldn't make it work.
I really liked Dad's Army, I listen to it on Radio4 extra. I am not sure about the film though.

Don't tell anyone - but i still watch Minder on the satellite channels .
I think George Cole and Dennis Waterman were brilliant in their roles .

I will now make myself go and stand in the corner .
How could i forget Jeeves & Wooster ( also still watch it on the satellite channels ) , played by Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie
I was told that the Jeeves & Wooster books are even more funnier than the tv series .

I cant imagine that
