I have a 1999 VW Passat and have, so far, covered 150K miles with no problems with original engine. Does anyone know the most mileage ever covered by a Passat with its original engine?

Google it Jonni, if the car has been service right you should get 2.300.000, filters and oil is the most important.
150,000 isn't high for a VAG engine.

Many thanks to both TWR and Hopkirk for their answers re: VW Passat mileage query. I believe that my Passat will probably live longer than I will
my 1997 golf had the TDi engine (AHU code) with 284k miles, this was all original except belt changes, one clutch and a set of injectors and had been tuned to 115 horse power.
Change the oil and filter at half the normal period and it'll go round the clock 3 maybe 4 times...
