I have just had an email purporting to come from Paypal, that says that

"online access to your Paypal account has been suspended, due to invalid information provided. To have your online account reinstated, you need to verify your online service access"

I am guessing that this an attempt at fraud, and I haven't clicked on the link but I thought I would let everybody else know. The email looks awfully official though, and I am not at all surprised that some many people are getting caught out.

Delete it. If ought is awry it will be apparent to you when you go to your account. If you can tell paypel the scammers email address that might be useful.
Paypel? Ay hev tarnd into the queen.
you can always forward it to [email protected] before you delete it, if it makes you feel better. I get these often - just delete them.
Scam mikey. Would just delete. Have had a few of these over the months and I always ignore.

Thanks guys !
Mikey, if in any doubt, go to your paypal account on a new tab, and log in separately. If you can get it then it's definitely a scam. Bears out the "never click on a link in a dodgy looking email" advice....
obvious scambo- rambo...

remember what Dale Winton says:

no clicky - no fraudie

Its just that it looked so real...same font, colours, etc. I sympathise with anybody getting caught out with this.
Authentic Paypal emails will always refer to you by your full name, never dear sir/madam/customer/ email address.
I've had these mikey and just ditch them. scam.
Glad I read this but I would not have opened it . I had one too looked so official . It wasn't addressed to me by name just dear member .
Meant to mention that I had one from apple too.
If the e-mail is genuine it will address you by your full name i.e. Dear Jonathan Strauss.
If no salutation name is given it is a spoof which can be redirected back to paypal for investigation.
